Norwegian soul sensation Jarle Bernhoft is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, composer and lyricit. His solo Grammy nominated record ‘Islander’ was released via Abbey Records in the UK in 2014.

Inspired by Swedish pop, the trailblazing soul of Stevie Wonder and Sly Stone, and the intricate folk-rock of Carole King, Islander was recorded at Chale Abbey Studios, Isle of Wight and produced by Paul Butler (Michael Kiwanuka and Devendra Banhart.)

Achieving coverage that included a live televised Glastobury performance, as well as a live rendition of the track ‘Wind You Up’ on BBC 1’s Breakfast show and a Radio 2 playlist slot, sold at shows at Shepherds Bush Empire and Manchester’s Deaf Institute.

In conjunction with HD360, the development of a unique mobile app also took place as a promotional tool and stand alone product. The Album App received rave reviews from the likes of Bilboard, Engadget, MusicTech, Sound on Sound and others.

‘Form is temporary. Class is permanent. I cannot think of a better way to describe this Norwegian retro soul artist and in particular; how brilliant his new album is. Trust me; this record is astoundingly good. That is an under-statement too!’ – Blues and Soul

‘ It's hard to convey how impressive this app is in presentation and operation. It might be a glimpse into the future of mobile music.’ Engadget
